3. Contacting
3.1 Description and scope of data processing
A contact form is available on our website, which can be used to contact us electronically. If you take advantage of this option, the personal data entered in the input mask will be transmitted to us and stored. The processing of your personal data serves us solely to process your inquiry.
At the time of sending the message, the following data will also be transmitted and stored:

  1. Date and time of the request
  2. URL from which the request was made
  3. IP address

Alternatively, it is possible to contact us via the e-mail addresses provided. In this case, the user’s personal data transmitted with the e-mail will be stored. This includes:

  1. Date and time of the request

as well as information on the servers involved in the e-mail communication.
In addition, you can contact us via the telephone number provided. In doing so, we collect log data that includes your telephone number and the duration of the call. As a matter of principle, we do not record conversations.

4. Newsletter
4.1 Description and scope of data processing
Your data will be used exclusively to send you the newsletter you have subscribed to by e-mail and, insofar as you have additionally consented to this, to evaluate how you use the newsletter and any content linked to it. Your name is given in order to be able to address you personally in the newsletter and, if necessary, to identify you if you wish to exercise your rights as a data subject.

In order to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the “double opt-in” procedure (DOI procedure) for an online registration. This means that following your newsletter registration, you will receive an e-mail in which you must confirm your newsletter registration by clicking on a link.

At the time of the DOI confirmation, the following data will also be stored:

  1. Location, date and time of registration
  2. IP address
  3. E-mail address
  4. Salutation, first name, last name

In addition, we evaluate your reading and usage behavior in order to continuously improve our newsletter and adapt it to your interests and needs. For this purpose, we analyze whether and what you read or click on in our newsletters in order to make them even more attractive.

6. Comment function
6.1 Description and scope of data processing

For some content on our website there is a voluntary comment function, by means of which you can communicate your opinion on an article. The comment is released after a positive review and appears publicly with the content where the comment was sent. There is no claim to the release of a comment.

When you leave your comment on our website, your name is collected and displayed publicly. In addition, your e-mail address will be collected. This is used to inform you about the status of your comment. The e-mail address is not displayed publicly and is not passed on to third parties or evaluated manually. In addition to this information, the time of creation and your IP address are also stored. This serves the security of the website operator in order to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations (of a civil or criminal nature).

The comment function serves the exchange of experiences as well as the possibility to communicate e.g. inquiries or suggestions.

8. Reach measurement
8.1 Description and scope of data processing
We evaluate user behavior with the help of analysis tools. A more detailed description of the tools can be found in the chapter “Analysis tools” of this privacy policy.
The processing is based on our legitimate interest. The measurement of the reach and the resulting information are suitable to adapt the web offer.

8.4 Use of Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimize our website as well as advertising measures.

Google Analytics is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes website usage data on our behalf and is contractually committed to measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.

During your website visit, the following data is recorded, among others:

  • Pages viewed
  • Orders incl. the turnover and the ordered products
  • The achievement of “website goals” (e.g. contact requests and newsletter sign-ups)
  • Your behavior on the pages (for example, dwell time, clicks, scrolling behavior)
  • Your approximate location (country and city)
  • Your IP address (in shortened form, so that no clear assignment is possible)
  • Technical information such as browser, Internet provider, terminal device and screen resolution
  • Source of origin of your visit (i.e. via which website or advertising material you came to us)
  • No personal data such as name, address or contact details are ever transferred to Google Analytics.

This data is transferred to Google servers in the USA. We would like to point out that the same level of protection under data protection law cannot be guaranteed in the USA as within the EU.

Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID with which you can be recognized during future website visits.

The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, which enables the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored in aggregated form indefinitely.

If you do not agree with the collection, you can prevent it with the one-time installation of the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics or by rejecting cookies via our cookie settings dialog.

9. Rights of the data subject
You have the following rights in relation to personal data concerning you:

  • The right to receive information about what personal data we store about you and how we process it;
  • the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a commonly used format;
  • the right to have your personal data corrected;
  • the right to have your personal data deleted;
  • the right to object to the processing of your personal data.

Please note that exceptions apply to these rights. To the extent permitted by law, we may refuse your request to exercise these rights.

You can revoke your consent to the processing of personal data at any time. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected.
